Sweep ~ Fox Terrier x (On Trial 19/2/17)

Meet SWEEP! a 4 year old, Black and tan male Fox Terrier X .Sweep is an easy going lounge lizard. He is very people-orientated.

Sweep is not a lap dog but loves to curl up with you on the couch and follows you around the house or garden. But he also enjoys his “me” time playing with rope toys, lying in the sun or curling up in his blanket. He needs to be included in your day to day life. Sweep shares the house with our resident dog and plays with him. They sleep together in the laundry in sight of our bedroom through a child gate. Sweep grew up with his older sister so has always shared his house with another dog though he would be ok on his own for short periods. He knows how to use a pet door.

Sweep is house trained, comes when called, sits for treats and stands to have his lead put on. He walks well on the lead and gets quite excited to go for a walk or a ride in the car. He is friendly with strangers
[particularly men] and most other dogs we meet. He is ok with older children but may be too excitable for very small children. He loves treats and tucks into his food. He eats dry food, bones, cooked rice and mince and chicken necks.

Once he settles in with you and considers himself to be at home, he becomes a very good little guard dog, barking when somebody comes to the door, but quickly settles down when he knows everything is ok. Like most terriers he loves to explore so needs very secure fencing. Being small he can squeeze through the smallest of gaps - he can squeeze through standard pool fencing.

Sweep came into care when his elderly owner died. He would be most suited to an active retired person or couple who are home most of the time. He will be a very loyal and loving dog to anyone who gives him the caring home he deserves.
