About Digby
Hey my name is Digby, and apparently I am looking for a home. I really like it here, and my foster carer says I'm great! But they own three dogs already, so I can't stay. But it means I am used to living with other dogs.
I also go to Doggy day care twice a week. My foster parents take me there so I can socialise with other dogs that are all shapes and sizes, because I am only living with big dogs at the moment. I'm only young, but I'm a big dog & I'm not fully grown yet. No one really knows my breeding, but most people agree that there is a bit of greyhound in me somewhere. But I am pretty, and love cuddles. I really like to go on walks. But I do get in trouble for waking myself. I'm told it's not good manners to hold the lead in my mouth so I am working on stopping that habit.
I'm crate trained. But I don't have to sleep in one overnight, as I don't go to the toilet inside or destroy the house (well I mean the furniture, most things left on the ground is fair game – I am still young after all). But I have a doggie door and I like to sleep on the lounge.
I'm really quiet, but I will bark and let my foster parents know if someone is walking by the house and up the driveway. I don't really understand 'fetch', but I love tug-o-war with the other dogs. And I know what 'sit' and 'wait' means as well as a few other words.
When I first came into care I used to dig holes a lot, I'm not sure if that's where my name came from? But I've grown out of that behaviour and am happy that I am allowed to have 1 hole. However I'm still young, and tall, and get a bit naughty and forget my manners. So from time to time I steal things off tables that I shouldn't. But not when anyone is watching.
I love to run and gallop, and would love a home like I have now, with a big backyard, a dog brother or sister (or three!) and to be allowed inside as part of the family and be taken places. I don't live with kids or cats, but all the kids I have met I have loved.
I am very smart, and I want to please my foster parents and the humans I meet. I'm a people person. So if you want a dog that's willing to learn, but past the baby-puppy stage, maybe I'm the one for you! I like big snoozes, and am fairly relaxed and lazy. But need to get out and stretch my legs daily.
