About Sasha
Introducing our newest recruit Sasha!
Those of you in the northern suburbs may recognise our stunning little girl. She became quite the escapee of her previous home ending up out and about 4 times in the space of 24 hours despite fence reinforcements. Luckily she managed to find her way home through the kindness of locals and the frantic efforts of the dog-sitter caring for her.
Unfortunately the change to Sasha's home-life had affected her greatly in recent times and she wasn't coping with hours alone in the yard hence her houdini habits.
Her owners opted to surrender her to us in order to find a home that can better meet Sasha's needs.
Sasha is a beautiful approx 4yo female husky with lots of love and affection to give. She enjoys cuddling up on the couch and is immediately friendly to all people. Sasha is well mannered for the most part and responds well to a gentle touch. Her confidence is building every day with positive reinforcements. She will cower and shy away from a heavy handed treatment, which frankly is not necessary as she is quite willing to please for the most part.
As you can tell she is an adept escape artist! She is a digger (albeit not the fastest one) and she's recently discovered her back legs are good for jumping! She can now use the rungs on timber fences to climb over 6ft fences.
Her new home will need to have dig-proof fences and either colourbond or timber with fence toppers to prevent her going over.
Sasha is good with other dogs and must go to a home with another dog for company. She is untested with smaller breeds at this stage but has lived with a German Shepard and a Husky, she gets along with both males and females.
Sasha is a calmer dog and no longer has the energy of a puppy. She would love a companion who is up for a good game of chasey and bitey-face but can also then take a rest and a chill pill after.
Sasha has very high prey drive and is not suited to a home with cats or pocket pets.
She is very friendly towards people but has not lived with very young ones so any children in the home will need to be 12 and older and used to dogs.
Sasha will need owners who are home a lot and who have the time to build her confidence slowly with increasing lengths of alone periods. She needs to be slowly acclimatised to separation and routine is a must to help reduce her stress when away from her people.
Medical notes
Sasha is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, vet-checked, flea & worm treated.
