About Val
Val is around 16 years old, silver tabby, desexed male, he used to live with his cat sister Frizz and his owner, unfortunately, his owner passed away and as the pair were not bonded, they went to separate homes.
Val came here. At first, he would not eat, but with perseverance was able to hand feed Val and get him started. It seemed that Val would settle in ok - he had never lived with kids before, so it was a gamble, but as the weeks progressed, Val started retreating more and more, it seems that the chaos and noise levels of our house full of crazy kids are just too much for Val.
He is an affectionate, loving cat who hides all day and comes out to sit and sleep with me once the house is quiet and the kids are in bed. He will also have absolutely nothing to do with the dog.
While he has been with me he has been an indoor cat and has never tried to escape, however, in his last home he had free access to the outdoors and came and went as he pleased.
Val has had a health check and apart from needing a dental he is in good health. He is litter trained and eating well. He had pre-anaesthetic blood which showed a minor flag in his urine, but this may have been due to the stress of traveling to the vets. He is up to date with worming and flea treatment, but his vaccination status is unknown.
Val only likes to be handled on his terms - he will come to you for a pat and when he chooses will sit with you.
With perseverance, I have been able to trim his nails, brush out his coat and take his pictures - none of which he was very impressed about, but he didn’t put up a fight either.
I think Val would be best suited to an older couple or single person - no kids or dogs - in a quiet home where he can relax and enjoy retirement.
