About Bella ~ Staffy x Kelpie (On trial 01/07/2017)
Bella is a gorgeous 5 year old Staffy x Kelpie, who is excited to meet everyone, and to go everywhere!
Bella came into care a little heavy, due to not being exercised regularly prior to her previous owner passing away. She still has plenty of energy though and can keep up a fast pace on walks, and is already starting to trim down with regular walks and play time (currently 24kgs). She also loves to fetch balls, chase bubbles, and play tug of war. She would be best suited to an active person or family with older children who can continue to exercise her and play with her daily.
Bella is independent yet affectionate. She loves to stand up or lean against you for a cuddle, and she cannot hide her love of tummy rubs. She knows basic commands and sits and waits for her food. She just wants to please everyone she meets.
Bella is fine with being on her own during the day, so long as she has some toys and shelter. She is not a crier or a nuisance barker, but she will make her very excited noises when she sees you come home.
Bella is very friendly to all humans she has met. She would be fine with older children, but may knock smaller children over in her excitement.
We know she has lived with a canine companion previously, but she has not been socialised in a while.
She is an inside and outside dog currently. She likes to come inside occasionally if people are home, mostly to suss out what’s going on and get a little tummy rub, but then takes herself back outside. Bella is house trained and sleeps inside at night, away from bedrooms on her own bed.
For more information or to meet Bella, please contact her foster carer Maddie on 0432 516 573 or email maddisonbrady95@gmail.com. Bella is in foster care in the Lake Macquarie area, NSW (south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Bella's adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
