About Jada ~ Kelpie ~ (Special Needs) on trial 9/2/17
Jada is a sweet natured 5 year old female Kelpie. She is a beautiful girl inside and out and does not have a bad bone in her body. She is a shy, timid dog that rarely barks.
Jada is "Special Needs" because she hasn’t had the best past and due to this she is wary of people especially men. Her confidence has been affected and she needs someone to be patient, kind and willing to give her the time to help her build her trust in people.
Jada loves her daily walks and really walks well on lead. She gets very excited and jumps for joy when she knows it is walk time. Yes, she does like to stop and have the occasional sniff but she does not pull or tug.
Jada adores other friendly dogs and loves to have a good play and rumble. She needs to go to a home with another friendly dog or multiple dogs. Typical kelpie, she's a good jumper so you'll need good fences, preferably colourbond.
Jada hasn’t had much formal training but she is fully toilet trained and has great recall. It took Jada some time to venture inside but now sleeps inside. In saying this, she is equally happy to sleep outside as long as she is undercover with a bed. When inside, she likes a quiet spot in the house to rest.
Jada would suit a dog loving person or couple who accept her for the dog she is. She requires time to adjust to her new environment. While Jada has been in care with us, she has come along in leaps and bounds and we know with the right person, she will be the dog she is meant to be.
For more information or to meet Jada, please contact her foster carer Sharron on 0423 331 057 or email sstudley3@bigpond.com. Jada is in foster care in Merewether Heights, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Jada's adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
