About Billy ~ Maltese ~ senior (on trial 14/1/17)
Billy is a spritely 13 year old Maltese who is as cute and cuddly as a little white teddy bear. He is good with other dogs, cats and calm children who leave his feet on the floor.
Billy is a quiet and very loyal dog who will follow you wherever you go and sit by your side. He is also very happy to sit on your lap for as long as you will have him there.
Billy is toilet trained and accidents rarely happen. He can use a dog door but due to his small size and slight arthritis in his back legs he can find it difficult to get back inside. Inside is where Billy will need to sleep and have access to all of the time. He currently sleeps on the floor of my room on a dog pillow.
It is so amusing to watch Billy chase a tennis ball - he never stops trying to pick up what is too big to fit in his mouth! It is even funnier to watch him play with a toy the same size as he is!
Billy is in foster care in Maryland, NSW (Lake Macquarie) and is available for adoption interstate.
For more information or to meet Billy, please contact Jaime by email jaihol@bigpond.com or on 0410 491 882, leaving a message with a name and contact details.
Billy’s adoption fee is $100 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms.
Medical notes
Mild arthritis in back legs
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
