About Billy
At 5 years of age, Billy is a typical labrador who still thinks he’s a giant puppy. He loves romping around with his canine foster brothers and sister (2 other labradors and a greyhound x) and loves hanging out inside with his foster family that includes three young children. It's important that in his new home, Billy is included in family activities and isn't left to spend large amounts of time outside alone without any company.
Billy would do best in a home with a confident dog for a companion. After spending most of his life as an only dog, it’s clear that he thrives on the companionship of a dog who will be his friend, his protector and his bed-time buddy. Billy isn’t always comfortable settling alone at night, but rugged up in his thunder-shirt with a good friend by his side, he’ll happily snooze all night.
Billy loves going for walks and is great on-leash. His foster family are working on his basic obedience and he knows ‘sit', ‘stay', ‘heel' and ‘come' and he is learning ‘no' and ‘drop’.
Potential adopters should keep in mind one particular quirk of Billy’s - he loves socks and thinks they make a great snack-food! Apparently Billy has had his sock obsession since he was a tiny puppy. So, in the interests of making sure that he doesn’t end up with a tummy full of socks, Billy’s adoptive family will need to make sure socks aren’t left laying around the house or in any place he can easily get to them.
Billy arrived in care with relatively low muscle-tone in his hind legs. This doesn’t slow him down at all and his foster family are working on a range of different activities including swimming to help build the strength in Billy’s hind legs. The only thing he can’t do at the moment is easily jump up into the car or onto the lounge.
Billy’s adoption fee is $320. He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and flea/tick/worm treated. He is currently located in Canberra, ACT with interstate adoption available (transport costs are payable by the adopter).

Adoption details
Hear No Evil's Adoption process:
1st Step * You contact us to obtain an adoption application, and discuss the dog of interest.
Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability.
2nd Step * A Meet and Greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and and current dogs is arranged where possible.
This usually coincides with a Yard check to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept. - We understand that this is not always possible in interstate adoptions and this will be discussed on your initial contact.
3rd Step *Payment of the Adoption fee in full. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records.
Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the Adopting party. Hear No Evil are happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step * Once the 14 day 'settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalised.
