About Joey DL958
Joey is a loving and loyal companion; while he likes to be right beside you wherever you go, he also enjoys taking himself out to sunbathe in the garden. He loves it so much you may have to remind him to come back in when it's getting too hot!
Joey absolutely loves his chewy tennis balls, even better if they squeak! He is active & playful and loves to run laps in the garden, but is a pro at navigating around the pot plants.
He will near break your heart with the look he gives as you leave for work, though he is very good even left indoors while you're out. He is house trained and happy to keep busy with his toys and treats, but gives a very warm welcome when you arrive home!
Joey is a great dog for someone who loves their garden, he has picked his own spot in the yard to toilet and a sandy place to make himself a 'nest' to keep cool & nap in, but leaves the lawn alone. He sits patiently for his food until you give the okay to eat, and he takes treats very gently from your hand.
Joey loves, loves, LOVES his walks; he knows when it is walk time and can't wait for you to hurry up and get ready! As Joey isn't keen on other dogs in his space, his foster mum heads out early morning to miss the rush of neighbourhood dogs & enjoy the nice cool weather. He needs further lead practice as he is a strong boy, but is coming along wonderfully wearing a halter and has already learnt to sit patiently at crossings.
Joey also loves going out for drives, he can't wait to get in and is very good in the car, no barking, just sits looking out the window. He is a pretty quiet boy in general, he doesn't even join in with the chorus of local dogs barking at night, he just sleeps right through it! While he isn't a fan of bath time, he does enjoy being brushed and will follow you happily when he sees the brush come out.
Joey is looking for an active owner who will include him as a special member of the family and be committed to work on his training & socialisation. He is suited to a single pet home without young kids. With a bit of practice, we reckon he'd be an awesome running partner!
Overall, Joey is a great young dog with a lot of potential, he is a sensitive boy but has incredibly good manners. While he loves his daily walks, not just for exercising but also for sniffing around, he settles quickly at home. He is in heaven if he can get belly rubs whenever you walk past him.
