About Clementine ~ poodle x (on trial 11/1/17)
Meet the adventurous Clementine! She is an 11 week old, female, poodle x spaniel who will grow to be a medium sized dog.
Clementine loves playing with a ball and will confidently retrieve it when thrown and practice bringing it back. She is a fast learner and would love for her new family to take her to puppy preschool so she can learn even more. Clementine has discovered that water is fun to play in so her ideal new family would be happy to get her a small paddle pool or take her somewhere so she can play on hot days.
She is extremely inquisitive and loves exploring. Clementine has an outgoing, independent personality and would love a family who could take her for walks and make her a part of their activities.
Her ideal new family will be able to spend lots of time with her teaching her new things, be fairly active and creative to come up with fun ways to help her burn energy and understand the needs of a puppy.
Clementine’s new family could have another dog but her independent nature would also make her a happy only dog as long as her family spent lots of time with her. She has met some children and was very well behaved but needs her own rest space where she can go when she gets overwhelmed with all the cuddles. She is in care with cats and is curious as to what they are but they don’t appreciate her energy. It would be recommended that her new home not have a cat.
She currently sleeps inside at night in a designated area with her brother and settles when she knows it’s bedtime. Toilet training is an ongoing process, as with all puppies, and although there may be an accident, she does prefer to go to the toilet on the grass and is responding well to positive reinforcement with her toileting habits.
Despite her independence she still loves to know her family is there to give her cuddles, teach her new things and provide reassurance in new situations.
Clementine's brother Connor is also available for adoption.
As Clementine is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Clementine, please phone her foster mum Fiona on 0408 295 137 or email fiona.hopping@uon.edu.au. Clementine is in Singleton, NSW (north west of Newcastle).
Clementine's adoption fee is $550 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
