About Connor ~ Poodle X Spaniel pup (on trial 15/1/17)
Meet the easy going Connor! He is an 11 week old, male, poodle x spaniel who will grow to be a medium sized dog.
Connor loves being around people and responds extremely well to training. He is learning to play new games and will follow his human foster dad around in the garden trying to help out. His new family would spend lots of time with him exploring the garden and playing games to help burn his energy.
Connor has a calm personality and loves to snuggle and cuddle. He adores his older doggie foster sister and cuddles with her to sleep during the day. His ideal new family would have an easy going older dog to teach him new things. They would also be prepared to spend time on puppy preschool for him to learn new things as he loves being a good boy.
Connor is curious and could do well with younger children due to his gentle nature and willingness to give loads of kisses. He has met children while in care and loved them but still needs a place to rest when overwhelmed with all the cuddles. He is in care with cats and while wanting to know what they are, he gives them space. His new family could have a cat but as with all dogs, proper introductions will need to be made to ensure they are ok.
Connor currently sleeps inside at night with his sister and settles well at bedtime. He responds very well to positive reinforcement when toilet training and will run over to his foster mum for a pat after going to the toilet on the grass. Although with all puppies, toilet training is an ongoing process and there are still some accidents when inside.
Connor’s ideal new family would spend lots of time with him training, exploring new things, exercising and cuddling. They would have another dog to keep him company and they would understand the needs of a puppy. He would love to be made a part of all aspects of family life.
Connor's sister Clementine is also available for adoption.
As Connor is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Connor, please phone his foster mum Fiona on 0408 295 137 or email fiona.hopping@uon.edu.au. Connor is in Singleton, NSW (north west of Newcastle).
Connor's adoption fee is $550 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
