Just like his namesake in The Jungle Book, Baloo is a gentle soul. He is a quiet & unassuming boy – happy to sunbake out on the lawn or rest for hours on a comfy dog bed. He walks well on lead, has a healthy appetite & has learnt to use a doggy door. Baloo is shy with strangers & when in new surroundings. He has lived with 10 & 7yo children & is very gentle with them but may not be comfortable with noisy or boisterous toddlers. He is sociable with other dogs but seems equally happy on his own. Would probably thrive in a home with another Greyhound, especially a female. Best suited to a family home in a suburban area (not bustling inner city suburbs). He will need someone who can provide him with a quiet, safe environment & time to develop into a confident & happy hound.
