About Moo ~ female Lab x Mastiff pup (On Trial 11/1/17)
MOO is a 7 week old, female, Labrador x Mastiff puppy available for adoption in early January. She is an inquisitive, playful, intelligent girl who has already learned to sit on command. Being a puppy however, and a big breed puppy, she will need continuing training to ensure she continues to understand that she mustn't jump or climb all over her human mates.
She loves her humans and after a big play and a full belly she will curl up for a cuddle. She is the biggest of her puppy family here with us and loves her food and will need a family that is prepared and experienced with caring for and budgeting for big breed dogs.
MOO currently lives with a foster family with a range of other dogs, big and small, and is very social. It would be a positive if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for MOO, however If you don't have another dog to keep her company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time and family members available to assist in the transition period when brought home.
MOO can annoy the older dogs as she just wants to run and jump all over them so is suited to dog friends that have the tolerance and youthfulness for a puppy’s exuberance.
MOO is well socialised with adults and children and is very social with all ages, her excitement and love however sometimes results in her scratching when having pats and cuddles. She needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. As a potential adoptive owner you need good fencing with no small gaps. She can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Moo's siblings – Jenna, Josie, Jerry, Justice, Molly, Max and Scout are also available for adoption.
As MOO is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she will need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she is approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to express your interest in adopting MOO in January please email Shannon at shanchan2000@yahoo.com.au with some details of the lifestyle you can offer MOO, your family, other pets, etc. Please allow up to 24 hours for a response. MOO is in care in Lake Macquarie, NSW.
MOO’s adoption fee is $500, this includes desexing, vaccinations, microchipping, flea and worm treatment. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
