About Molly ~ female Lab x Mastiff pup (On Trial 7/1/17)
MOLLY is a 7 week old, female, Labrador x Mastiff puppy available for adoption in early January. She is a very curious, inquisitive, playful, intelligent girl who has already learned to sit on command. Being a puppy however, and a big breed puppy she will need continuing training to ensure she continues to understand that she mustn't jump or climb all over her human mates.
She loves her humans and very sweetly will find her way into your lap, where she will have a snuggle before distracting herself with chewing your bracelet or nibbling at your fingers.
MOLLY currently lives with a foster family with a range of other dogs, big and small, and is very social. It would be a positive if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for MOLLY, however If you don't have another dog to keep her company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time and family members available to assist in the transition period when brought home.
MOLLY can annoy the older dogs as she just wants to run and jump all over them so is suited to dog friends that have the tolerance and youthfulness for a puppy's exuberance. She is very responsive however to dog's cues and will leave them alone when asked.
MOLLY is well socialised with adults and children and is very social with all ages, her excitement and love however sometimes results in her scratching when having pats and cuddles. She needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. As a potential adoptive owner you need good fencing with no small gaps. She can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
MOLLY's siblings – Jenna, Josie, Jerry, Justice, Moo, Max and Scout are also available for adoption.
As MOLLY is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she will need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she is approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to express your interest in adopting MOLLY in January please email Shannon at shanchan2000@yahoo.com.au with some details of the lifestyle you can offer MOLLY, your family, other pets, etc. Please allow up to 24 hours for a response. MOLLY is in care in Lake Macquarie, NSW.
MOLLY’s adoption fee is $500, this includes desexing, vaccinations, microchipping, flea and worm treatment. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
