About Abbey
Beautiful girl Abbey is a typical Beagle who loves to explore and put her amazing sense of smell to good use.
She is incredibly affectionate and loves spending lots of time with her family. Beagles are bred to be part of a pack and are usually very loving and loyal family members. She will not cope well in a home where she is left alone for long periods of time. She thrives on company and will get bored and lonely very easily.
Abbey is now learning manners from her foster carers but still has a bit more to learn. With time and patience she will begin to understand the correct etiquette of taking food from your hand. We will be looking for a home for Abbey where there are no young children. She still thinks any food being held down low is hers for the taking so it will be best for her to not have these opportunities.
We don't believe Abbey received much socialisation in her previous home and is still learning how to mix with other dogs. While she is not nasty she will bark at other dogs because she is unsure how she is meant to respond to them.
Obedience training would be a huge benefit to help her understand the correct behaviour around other dogs and what her new family expects from her. It is also a great way for her to create a trusting bond with her new family.
Abbey loves going for walks and being out and about to see what is happening in the big wide world and loves meeting new people.
Regular outings with her new family will be a great way for her to feel like a special part of the family and keep her busy mind stimulated.
In her foster home Abbey gets to spend lots of time indoors and is fully toilet trained and will let them know if/when she needs to go outside. She is also crate trained and will put herself to bed each night.
In her current foster home she has been introduced to cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens and shows very little interest in any of them.
If you would like to offer Abbey a new home where she will receive loads of love please send us an enquiry and we will be in touch shortly
Abbey is currently in Ballarat, VIC
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
