Hey everyone! My name is Derick. Don't let my age fool you. I may be seven but I can certainly keep up with the young furry kids! Foster mum and dad call me a Buzz Bomb as I like ZOOOOOOMMMMing around! I'm a real speed freak! I love to run as fast as I can and foster mum is amazed that I never tire - well I'm a working breed so that's what we do! I reckon I’m a contender for the next land speed record!

I adore attention and I'll nudge your hand with my nose to remind you that you was meant to be petting me. After many many Zoooomies I like to jump in my clam shell and splash around to cool off before the next lot :) I'm well trained and always come when I'm called - as long as you call me before I run too far and can't hear you. When I’m used to two regular walks a day and some high reward recalls are practiced when I’m first adopted, my recall will be awesome and I’ll definitely hang around closer in case you have half a chicken for a recall in future!

A big smoked bone, kongs and things to keep my mind working are a must for me if you have to leave me while you’re at work. I'm a wonderfully loyal dog - and dog, people and children social. But I can knock over small kids with my excited tail and I'm naughty with cats so a cat free home is needed for me. I need daily walks, or even better, runs. I'd make a great cycling partner which would help to expel some of my extraordinary working dog energy. I would love to do training at obedience classes, or give flyball or sledge pulling a go, to name a few. Oh and of course a herding program would be brilliant - I love to have a job! If I become bored, I will find my own entertainment. This can include rounding up kids or chewing something I shouldn't. So for me to make you the best pet, it’s important that my family understands and caters for the mental and physical stimulation requirements of my breeds, and the importance of continuing my socialisation and training to ensure I stay a well rounded happy dog.
