About Lemmy ~ Ridgeback x (on trial 31/12/16)
Lemmy is a rising 2 year old male Ridgeback X.He has a velvet to the touch tiger striped, golden, gleaming coat that he constantly gets compliments for.
He absolutely loves his daily walk and can even keep up a faster pace if you're up for the challenge!
Lemmy also loves playing with his toys and enjoys a very one sided game of a fetch where you throw the ball and he keeps it.
Lemmy is a very people oriented person and can express it with youthful exuberance.
Lemmy loves snuggling up with you on the couch; he will curl up right beside you or stretch and lay down for hugs.
Just being near you and getting a pat is Lemmy's favourite thing in the whole world. He has so much love to give and will stare you in the eyes adoringly while doing so.
Lemmy wants to be a part of the family and is looking for a home where he will become a valued and well-loved member of the human/animal pack.
He likes to curl up in his bed in the kitchen and quietly watch the daily goings on of the house.
Lemmy has access to inside and outside throughout the day and is housetrained.
We feel safe with Lemmy in the house as he alerts us to any unfamiliar noises but isn't a nuisance barker.
Lemmy sleeps inside on his bed in the kitchen throughout the night.
Lemmy is great with teenagers and adults but too outgoing for young children, he has a thumping
tail which wags every time you grace his presence.
Lemmy is great at sitting for treats but needs further training with other basic commands, he is very reward orientated so this should be an easy task.
Lemmy lives with a fluffy desexed male terrier and they are great friends but would love a doggie girlfriend who is a similar size (large Labrador) and age to play with as he often tires the fluff ball out.
Lemmy is not suited for cats or pocket pets or undesexed male dogs.
Lemmy's perfect home would be with an active single, couple or family with older children.
Lemmy would ideally like a home with someone who won't leave him home alone for extended periods without a playmate. Lemmy requires a moderate size yard and some toys for stimulation.
Lemmy was saved from a Western Sydney pound with only minutes to spare from receiving the dreaded sleep forever needle because of affectionate ways. His only wish is to be love and loved- are you ready for a whole lotta love from Lemmy?
If you are interested in adopting/meeting Lemmy please contact his foster carer Casey at caseyleaharvey@gmail.com or for more information call 0422082086. Lemmy is located in Hamilton (5 min from Newcastle) and is not available for adoption interstate.
Lemmy's adoption fee $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
