About Alfie
Are you the family for me?
I’m looking for a family who likes to walk and will take me for outings. I want to chase the tennis ball and I also like squeaky toys. I like other dogs but I can be a bit of a bully if you’re not watching me closely – I like to hump them and push them around, and lots of dogs don’t like it. Foster Mum has been teaching me not to do that and I’ll need you to help me remember it’s not ok.
I hope that you’ll want to help me with my training as I’ve been learning a lot of things recently – at first I didn’t want to learn to sit, drop, stay or heel. I didn’t want to learn to walk nicely on lead or come when called, so these things have been a challenge but I’m coming along well. I’ll be happy to do them for you once I respect you.
My family should be mine - I don’t want to share you. I don’t need another dog for company, although I like most dogs. I don’t want any cats for company, although I get along with them. I don’t want to share you with little kids - I may not be reliable with them. I have a little separation anxiety and I will sometimes howl or bark for attention, though foster Mum has been teaching me that that isn’t ok, and mostly I don’t do it anymore.
I also need someone who understands that I’m not a fan being groomed or going to the vet. I have improved out of sight with grooming situations but I have a ways to go yet so you’ll need to go slow and help me, as I will need regular grooming.
Am I the dog for you?
I’m a labradoodle, medium size, about 18 kilos. I’m eight years old, fit & healthy. I’m desexed, microchipped, vaccinated & heartworm treated. I recently had a dental. I can be a bit needy and I have quite a strong attitude. I’m overtly friendly, confident, outgoing and pushy. I’m not everybody’s cup of tea but once I love you I’ll be dedicated to you.
Am I the one for you?
