About Starr ~ beautiful 1.5yo Kelpie (on trial 1/2/17)
Starr is a beautiful purebred Kelpie girl who is 1.5 years old. She is a well-trained, playful girl seeking an active family who will take her for lots of adventures.
Starr is a very clever girl – she can sit, stay, lie down and has good recall. She is house-trained and always has good manners inside. At the moment, she snuggles up on a comfy doona in the bathtub when it is bedtime (she has learnt that this means playtime is over until tomorrow).
Starr is good with other dogs and would like to have an active playmate so that she doesn’t get lonely. She currently lives with a cat too, but a carefully managed introduction should be done if her new home also has a cat. We are not sure how she would go with birds or pocket pets.
Starr is still very young and has a lot of energy so she would love to be a part of a family who will take her for lots of walks or runs, play games with her and take her out for special trips. She would be best with older kids as she might accidentally knock over small kids when excited. Her new family would ideally have experience with kelpies or working-breed dogs.
Starr’s favourite place to visit is the dog beach! She loves it and always behaves well. Her favourite games are fetch and hide and seek. She’d love some toys which keep her mind active (like problem solving toys with food in). Starr also likes to eat bananas and can peel them herself! She is not a barker or an escape artist and is happy outside if she has company and some toys.
This gorgeous girl came from a loving home who very regretfully can’t keep her, but is hoping she will find a new family to cuddle and play with who will love her as much as she will love them.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
