About Regina ... aka Reggie
Regina
“Reggie” is a character. Typical of a 10mth old female kelpie, Reggie has loads of energy and is highly inquisitive. Reggie could be suited to a life of crime – she steals a sock when you are putting it on and runs away with it really, really fast. When you get it back it is ruined. Her current foster carer plays memory games trying to work out what Reggie might have stolen from the room while she was out.
Reggie missed out on the right socialisation when young so she has challenging behaviours when meeting and living with other dogs. She will react negatively because she lacks confidence and is a bit frightened. She lives with two dogs currently and seems to prefer the male.
She is very affectionate and clean. She’ll join you in the shower. She is toilet trained. She will eat your hair and give you a kiss and a hug at any opportunity.
Ideal situation for Reggie
Opportunity for mental and physical activities.
Older companion dog who is calm and not easily intimidated but can show her how to polite dog language.
An owner who is prepared to continue her training and education and socialisation. You will need to show leadership, compassion and patience.
Initially Reggie should not be off lead until you can improve her confidence around other dogs.
Kids are ok but recommend older/teens.
