About Candy
Candy is 16 years young, and we really mean that word "young"! Although she has many years behind her, she is as playful and sweet as many young dogs. She loves to play with the ball, she loves to go for walks, and you'd never guess she is as old as she is.
Candy lives a very full and active life with her foster family. They go for rides in the car and adventures to the beach and of course lots of walks. Although she loves to get out and have lots of fun, she also is quite partial to a cuddle on the couch at the end of the day. Candy has the sweetest nature and she is great with children. She is a real lap dog and enjoys a good snuggle.
Candy sleeps in a crate, and this is also a helpful thing to have on hand for her, as her crate is her safe little den. Candy is very afraid of storms and loud noises, and found the New Years fireworks very scary. We would recommend her new family do have a crate for her to retreat to when she is feeling afraid or during stormy weather.
Candy does live with other dogs in her foster home, however she tends to be a little bossy. She doesn't like to share her food or toys, and would do best with a gentle natured companion, or maybe even as an only dog. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body so she does socialise well with other dogs, but she should be fed seperately and given her space when it comes to toys, treats and resources.
Sadly, Candy was surrendered to CRQ due to a tragic family emergency, but this beautiful dog has adjusted so well to her foster carers home. She loves every one and has so much devotion and joy to bring to the family who adopt her.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
