About Diesel ... fine with dogs, kids and confident cats
Diesel is a big, beautiful dog.
Being a bigger dog he can tend to play a little rough so would be better suited as a companion for a a similar natured dog. He has been fostered with different dogs, two cats and a crazy eleven year old girl (& assorted crazy 11yo guests).
With his enthusiasm for life he would be best suited to a family with older kids (teenagers at least)
He’s learning to be obedient, knows basic commands and is a barrel of laughs to be around. He’s not a great fan of walking so short, frequent walks would be perfect. He needs to be taught rules and boundaries so a new family with previous “big dog” experience would be a bonus.
Diesel is still growing, has massively long legs, although he is quite lean. He’s stunning to look at (at first glance he’s totally a Dane) and he has a goofy, endearing personality, but can be stubborn when it suits him. He's definitely a "people person" (oops, dog) and loves human company. Having said that, he doesn’t always need to be in your face. He is very happy outside on his own, but will need toys to entertain him. He loves to chase a ball or toy but will need to learn to give them back if the game is to continue.
from our transporter ******************* Diesel is the definition of a big, bouncy puppy. He has super long legs which make him really tall, but at 'only' 45kg he's a lean boy. Everything about life is exciting to him; going on walks, going in the car and especially getting attention from people. He is a happy and playful pup who is good with other dogs and just needs to learn boundaries i.e not jumping up to say hi when he's excited. He doesn't know his own strength so he pulls quite hard on the lead but a confident handler will manage him just fine and he should be a dream to walk on a halti. He's a lap dog in a Great Dane body!!
He fits nicely in the back of a mini ;)
