About Timmy
Timmy is a very smart and affectionate greyhound boy who came to us in a very neglected state.
He has bounced back however and has started to enjoy life.
He is a very handsome boy and not too tall for a male greyhound.
Timmy seeks the love and attention of humans and is great with meeting other dogs on his walks.
He settled into his foster home very quickly, he is quiet but not shy and loves a good snuggle. He spends a lot of time lazing around indoors in what ever room his foster mum is in, moving around the house as she does.
She advises house guests to shut the toilet door properly unless they want a visitor :)
Timmy previously had issues with being left alone for long periods and was returned twice to Amazing Greys.
In his foster home he quickly learnt to relax and no longer stresses. He has never chewed up or destroyed any furniture, toys or cushions even when left home alone for longer periods of time.
He doesn't like being out in the rain or going outside without a good reason and would prefer to be where the people are. He has a couple of "spack attacks" each day and prefers to do that with someone who will run and pounce around the yard with him. He will retrieve a ball three times in a row (no more), provided he's in the mood.
He does enjoy finding treats and toys and using activity balls. He's an excellent house cleaner- if his foster mum left any food on the bench, it's gone when she comes home and the dishes are wiped clean.
Timmy once didn't like to eat his worming tablet so his foster mum left it on the kitchen bench, and what do you? It was eaten when she returned an hour later!
He knows what green bags are used for and tries to help put away the shopping away too. Timmy also puts his foster mum's shoes away, although he thinks that they belong on the couch. He never damages them, just relocates them a little.
You will never have to worry about flies with Timmy around, he has earned the nickname Renfield in our home for his constant consumption of them.
Like all good boys he lets you brush his teeth.
He gets along with every dog he meets but doesn't make a big fuss over them, usually just says "Hello" then looks around for pats. He would suit a home with another dog provided the other dog doesn't want anyone to play rough with, he's happy to run around with them but doesn't care for wrestling.
Timmy would not currently suit a home with a cat, he's a little too interested in them.
He is a dream to walk on lead and does enjoy getting out and about but isn't keen for walks that are too long.
