About Coco ~ kelpie girl (on trial 18/12/16)
Meet Coco a 4.5 year old Kelpie girl. Coco is an extremely affectionate dog and she’s not afraid to use her puppy eyes and super waggy tail against you.
Coco is a ball-catching superstar! She will fetch and drop the ball right at your feet! She loves sports and spending time with friends of all ages (she has been living with young children age 3 & 5), especially if they like to teach her new games. A perfect day for Coco includes going for a walk or playing ball, stopping by a training class and then snuggling up next to you.
Coco (AKA Coco Pops AKA Coco Nuts) prefers not to share her home with other dogs as she doesn’t get on with them and needs to be kept on lead around them. Coco’s foster carers and a trainer are helping her understand that other dogs are not scary. All she needs is for her new owner to remain calm, keep her doggy meetings brief and continue with the positive reinforcement training.
As much as Coco loves people, she doesn’t mind staying alone and would be suitable for full time workers. She doesn’t bark when the other neighbours' dogs bark and she isn’t interested in jumping fences or digging (unless you give her a bone but that’s a whole different story). All she needs in return is a daily walk and some playtime with her ball. Coco spends her nights outside but would love some family time before bedtime (no need to read her a book - TV will be just fine).
For more information or to meet Coco, please contact her foster carer Olga on 0432 698 006 (outside of business hours) or email olgut1@hotmail.com. Coco is in foster care in Maitland, NSW.
Coco's adoption fee is $400 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
Coco has her own Instagram account where you can see more photos of her https://www.instagram.com/cuteascoco/
Medical notes
Happy, healthy young girl
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
