About Sprite
Sprite is has an absolutely amazing personality. She is loving adventurous, confident, curious, outgoing, loyal and social. Her ears are confused as to whether they wish to be up or down and they take it in turns to spring up or rest from day to day.
Sprite loves to run, play with toys, other dogs and people, snuggle into your chest, give you lots and lots of sweet, meaningful kisses and she also loves to swim!
She is very people focussed. She will need a home where she is the centre of her owner's world, because you will be the centre of hers. With the terrible start she has had, one that nearly came to an abrupt end, she has earned a special life.
Sprite is a fighter. A fighter wrapped in a pink padded, powder coated, shiny nosed adorable delight. Sprite is a lover. A lover blessed with the ears of a velveteen rabbit, pop-corn smelling puppy paws, the nubbiest of wiggle bum tails, deep brown eyes that plead with you for connection, and a silly, round belly ripe for scratching and blowing raspberries.
Sprite is loyal. She will follow you down the darkest of paths. She will love you with all of her heart forever. Sprite survived for a reason. Are you that reason?
Sprite is a true terrier with an unwavering enthusiasm for life. She has the energy to hike with you for miles. When she has had enough exploration she will climb on your lap and snuggle in for an adorable, twitchy dream session.
Sprite is ideally suited to those who have had experience with high-drive terrier-types prior. She has very sharp needle like teeth and sometimes gets carried away in play - she will need consistent guidance and redirection until these behaviours are under control.
Sprite is not recommended for children under 10 years due to the above reasons.
Please note that Sprite has a foreleg deformity resulting in the underdevelopment of her toes and hyperextension in her carpus. She doesn't care and she hopes that you don't either. Please see the medical notes below for further information.
Medical notes
Sprite has an underdeveloped right foreleg. Her toes are not as long as they should be and she does not have toenails on some of them. This foot tends to be overly flexible in the wrist. At the moment this is not causing Sprite any problems or pain. She walks just fine and doesn't realise that there is anything wrong with her.
However, in the future this foot may present a problem resulting in the need for surgical intervention. It remains to be seen how she will develop and how her body will compensate for her deformity.
Please do not let this be a reason to overlook your doggy soul mate - but be realistic as to whether you will be able to afford to care for her in the future should her leg become problematic. She will not be able to be insured for this.
Sprite was also born without a tail!
Adoption details
Please email me a little bit about yourself. I would be interested in hearing with whom Sprite will be living. Do you have other dogs? What sort? How old? Tell me about what your current dog gets up to on a daily basis. Do you have children? Do you work?
I do not operate on a first-in-best-dressed basis. Instead my aim is to find the most suitable forever home for the animals in my care. Sprite is located in Berwick, Victoria and will only be adopted out in surrounding suburbs. Please read this ad carefully; anyone who does not fit the criteria listed or has clearly not read the ad in full will not receive a reply. Additionally, due to the number of applicants, only promising applicants will receive a response. If you are not contacted within 48 hours, please assume that you have been unsuccessful.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO NEGOTIATING ON PRICE. Sprite will have all of her vaccinations, parasite prevention, her microchip and desexing taken care of. The adoption price barely covers the cost of this let alone the money that has been outlayed for her medical care.
Please be sure that you, your partner and/or anyone else with whom Sprite will be living or who has a say in the adoption of Sprite, is committed to a meet and greet with the intention to adopt prior to arranging a meet-and-greet.
