About Ollie & Millie ~ Dachshund pair (on trial 23/12/16
Ollie and Millie are 7 year old, brother and sister, purebred Dachshunds looking for a lovely new home to settle in. Millie and Ollie are inseparable and do everything together. They love walks any time of day (or night), they love curling up for a sleep, they love a good ear scratch and a belly rub, they love each other and they will love you.
Millie and Ollie are happy to be outside during the day if you go to work but they need to be allowed inside when people are home and must sleep inside. It's fine if you work full time as they will entertain themselves outside or inside during the day. They just love being around people and when you're home they prefer to be as close to you as possible. When inside they will snuggle with you or fall asleep on their beds.
They are both toilet trained and if you have a doggy door they will let themselves in and out as needed. When outside Millie and Ollie will explore or rest, they love bones and will chew and hide them. They enjoy going for walks and sit quietly in the car.
Neither dog shows any food aggression. They love chicken, rice, biscuits, liver treats and are not fussy with food. They have no allergies or health concerns. They occasionally bark if a person or cat comes to the door, which makes them good alarm guard dogs.
Millie is more subdued and does not crave attention. She will happily receive cuddles and gives you lots of cuddles in return. Generally Millie's behaviour is led by Ollie as she truly looks up to him. Millie looks after Ollie and will clean him in the evening and always makes sure he is around. Ollie is definitely the most cuddly of the pair and is happy to lay on you or be as close as possible. He loves belly tickles and will try to lick you at the same time so you know he is grateful.
Millie and Ollie are best suited to a family with children 8 years or older as smaller children tend to scare Ollie making him occasionally bark, however he has not demonstrated any aggressive behaviour. Millie is fine around children and will just seek your attention. They love pats and cuddles and if inside will lay on their beds most of the time.
They truly are lovely dogs who will provide you with endless smiles with their funny quirks and personalities. They will make a wonderful addition to your family and are very low maintenance.
