About Nitro the smoochy cat
Nitro was an abused kitten rescued by a loving family when he was still really small. They nursed him back to health and he lived happily with them in the Werribee area until one day he got out the front door and ran away. His family searched everywhere for him, for years and eventually gave up earlier this year when his council registration came up.
In Altona there was a young woman who noticed a scruffy ginger cat that hung around her house. After asking around and calling council, she finally borrowed a trap from someone and caught this scaredy cat, whom she wanted to adopt. He was taken to the Lost Dogs Home and miraculously he was microchipped. The family couldn't take him back (for very good reasons) and surrendered him to be adopted by the finder. Sadly the finder chose not to adopt Nitro because he was FIV positive and now he's in care with us.
Nitro is a stunning fluffy champagne ginger boy with luxurious fur. He loves being around people and would suit a large family with older children. He just wants to be loved and looked after after his years on the streets. He likes to hang out with his foster carer's other cats, loves a belly rub, a warm lap and a brush. He's very talkative and will happily chirrup away as he lies near you. Nitro used to live with a dog at his previous home, but has not been tested with a dog recently.
Medical notes
Nitro in excellent health but because he's FIV+ he will have to be an indoor cat but would love to have access to a protected outdoor cat run.
We're happy to answer any queries about Nitro's FIV, which can be managed with diet and supplements. He is desexed, microchipped, wormed, flea treated, brushed, he looks and feels so very handsome!
