About Lucy ~ 1yo Wofhound x girl (On Trial 18/12/16)
Beautiful, gentle, quiet Lucy is a 1 year old Wolfhound X girl who loves being with people and just wants to be loved.
At 12 months old, the vet believes that at 25kg Lucy is as big as she will get. Although she is a strong girl, she would love the chance to be a snuggle buddy or a lap dog. Lazing around between the backyard and her comfy bed and successfully extracting cuddles (because of her beautiful manners and wagging tail) are her two favourite things to do. She gets very excited to see you, resulting in a very cute tap dance, until you give her a pet and cuddle.
Lucy is great with other dogs and enjoys her bursts of playtime with her current furry friend, a very energetic blue-cattle pup. The pup pesters Lucy persistently wanting to play and run and whilst Lucy engages in this throughout the day, she more often than not very gently pushes her away to enjoy her lazy ways.
Lucy would suit a fairly active person, couple or family who will make her part of their family. She enjoys going on walks and does not pull on the lead unless a very interesting smell triggers her attention for a couple of seconds.
Lucy is calm, friendly and gentle, and really just a big snuggly sook! She does not bark! She knows basic commands – sit, down, no, and comes when her name is called. She has not shown any interest in chasing or playing with toys, but has held them in her mouth on a couple of occasions.
Lucy’s coat is shorthaired and very soft on her underside. She really enjoys being brushed and is very calm when being bathed and for vet visits. She is currently with a furry friend, who keeps her company throughout the day when her foster-human are not home, but would be fine as an only dog as she loves to spend her time lazing around and does not need constant stimulation. Currently she sleeps either outside in the yard through the day or in the garage of an evening and is very clever with her doggy door.
For more information or to meet Lucy, contact her foster carer Lauren on 0421 234 528 (unavailable business hours) or email laurensanders16@outlook.com Lucy is located in East Maitland, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Lucy’s adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
