My name is Trixie and I am the most quirky little girl you could ever wish for. I haven't had a very nice time up until now but as I come out of my shell, my carers are loving what I'm showing them.

I am a small dog. I get along great with other dogs if they're a calm and gentle nature. Rowdy dogs scare me so please don't make me be around them. I am a fantastic little one who will be a great inside dog. I don't take up much room and I am very quiet and placid. The perfect snuggle buddy for movie marathons. I like to trot around the house and keep an eye on what you're doing- please don't shut me outside alone. I won't complain, I won't make a noise - but it will make me sad. You will know because I will drop my head and get a sad look in my eye.

I was abandoned you see, and lived alone in a field for many weeks. I was terrified and have only just learned to trust humans again after OTC rescued me. So I will feel best if you keep me close to you when you are home. I am used to my foster carers being in and out of the house and don't show any signs of separation anxiety when they leave. I do however have a little dog friend to play with here. I would sure love another dog in the home if possible. I do not like being picked up or my belly or bottom poked or prodded. I act as if someone has kicked me very hard in the past and unfortunately given the fact I was left alone for many weeks when my owner moved- it is probably safe to assume this.

I love belly rubs- but please don't scare me by making me show my belly if I don't want to. You'll know I like you when I come to you for pats and belly rubs. Don't worry, it won't take me long! I am fast learning to trust again. I would prefer to be around older kids who won't frighten me. I have never bitten anyone, not even the vet - but I do definitely not like to be picked up or chased and get very scared. I just want to take it easy, be your mate and relax. I've done it hard. It's my time to be happy now.

I love going on walks, and have been to a dog park but it freaked me out a little bit. Maybe we could do play dates with other dogs for a while until my confidence builds up? I definitely love canine company - I just need to be eased into it. I spent so long alone I have to relearn the hard stuff!
