About Honey ~ Maltese x Shih Tzu 5yo (On Trial 18/12/16)
Honey is a 5 year old, female, Maltese X Shih Tzu and a perfect lap dog. She loves cuddles but is also happy sitting on the floor beside you. She is very obedient and responds to basic commands. She is toilet trained.
Honey loves walks and will need to be exercised daily to keep her happy and healthy. She is very easy on the lead and will happily walk beside you on and off lead.
Honey is a very loyal dog who will quickly bond with any owner and will follow you from room to room like a shadow. She is very playful and will greet you at the door when you get home, leaping into the air with excitement. She is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside with her humans.
Honey loves children and adults alike but is not the greatest fan of other dogs so would be best suited to being an only dog or living with one other placid dog.
Honey has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep her comfortable and beautiful.
Honey needs secure fencing with no gaps, as she is a bit of an escape artist. Her energy and playfulness has endeared her to her foster carers and we're sure you'll love her too.
For more information or to meet Honey, please contact her foster carer Breeanna by email to bree.m.jacobs@gmail.com (preferred as I work fulltime) or leave a message on 0413 784 121. Honey is in foster care in Islington, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Honey's adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
