Joe

Having been involved in rescue for approximately six years now, I have had many foster dogs join my family for small periods of time until they are adopted. Never have I met a dog like Joe and, yes, he is that perfect that I have been ever so tempted to adopt him myself.

From the word go, Joe settled in beautifully and went to sleep at night in his crate without a peep. He gets along extremely well with his foster brother and sister (both kelpies) and enjoys his days playing in our yard, happy to assume the quiet role of a submissive and biddable dog. He eats well from his bowl, in the company of the other dogs, and quietly goes about consuming his own meal rather than trying to see what the other dogs are up to.

I have two teenage boys and Joe is extremely friendly and smoochy. A very affectionate dog, Joe likes to snuggle up for cuddles and enjoys the company of his humans very much. Joe's background incorporates being bred for working stock but, very humorously, he was more interested in playing rather than doing his job - hence it was deemed that he would make a better pet.

Ideally, Joe would suit an active family who is seeking a companion who will be included in daily activities. Whether it be a quick drive to the beach, or a stroll down to the park, Joe loves to be with you at any opportunity. I have left him unattended, for small periods whilst at work, and he has shown no signs of destruction. I do, however, leave him dog toys and bones to ward off any potential boredom. Joe has also been instinct tested and, I feel that he would make an awesome pet for someone wishing to take up trialling

If you're looking for the perfect pal to share your days and life, then look no further than Joe. He will be sadly missed by my family, when he is adopted, but we look forward to him having a forever family who will love him to pieces. What a neat little guy!
