About Alfie
This handsome boy is Alfie.
Alfie is a friendly and affectionate boy who loves lots of attention from his family. He can be a little shy at first and takes a few minutes t warm to people but after that you get to see the wonderful boy he is.
Beagles are bred to be part of a pack so they are well suited to a family home where they will be offered lots of company from their people. They are known for being tolerant of children and like to be close and involved in their families activities when possible.
Alfie has been with other dogs in his foster home and gets along really well with them all. He will only be suited a home with a desexed doggy companion. Being alone is not a good scenario for his breed and he will easily become bored which can lead to him becoming destructive, barking or digging/climbing to get out and find company. He has met the resident cats and hasn't been interested in them.
Regular walks, exercise and stimulation will be very important for Alfie. He loves to be out and about so he can follow his nose and sniff everything he passes. It is strongly recommended that Beagles are always kept on lead when outside a secure area as it is very hard for them to come back to their family when called if they have picked up an interesting scent.
Alfie would benefit greatly from obedience training to help him understand what is expected from him. Beagles can be very strong willed but an advantage to this is they are quite often food driven and therefore happy to listen and learn to receive their reward.
A home where Alfie is allowed to spend lots of time inside as an important family member will be the best opportunity for him to develop into a wonderful, well behaved boy. We don't believe this was something offered to him in his previous home and he is really enjoying the new lifestyle he is receiving in his foster home. Alfie is still being toilet trained and is catching on really well with lots of praise when he remembers to go outside.
If you have read all the above information and believe you have a wonderful home Alfie could be a special please send us an enquiry and we will be in touch shortly
Alfie is currently in Cockatoo, VIC
Medical notes
Alfie is fully vaccinated and had received regular flea and worm treatment while he has been in our care.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care when possible. This is a condition of our Adoptions.
