JED'S STORY:
Although "Jed's Story" is heartbreaking, there might be something you can do to help…
After an estimated 10+ years with his previous owner(s), "Jed" the Black Labrador was found as a stray, and surrendered by his finders to a South Australian country pound.
This old soul, who came in completely blind, has been in our rescue since mid-October. In that time, he has undergone a major surgery to remove the aggressive cataracts he had. Since the surgery, Jed has recovered well, but still has problems with seeing things. We are unsure if his sight will improve in time as the swelling in his eyes subsides, but we are very hopeful he will obtain some vision (at least in his better eye).
But now this senior citizen needs to discover love in his life again. We’ve got to know this old boy pretty well and want to make sure we find the perfect home for him.
Given his size and personality, he’d suit a retired and moderately active owner. He’s super happy, affectionate (and patient) around kids of all ages and would certainly be happy sharing a home with other pets and gets along well with most other dogs especially females. Yep…he’s an all-round good guy.
Often a lot of older dogs of Jed’s age struggle to find homes. But we're hoping we can change that with Jed as he is a real sweetheart.
After a rough patch, it’d be great if we could make his remaining years the best yet.
Jed comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, micro-chipped, worm and flea treated and with a 'starter pack' that contains a bed, food, toys and important information for new owners.
