About Bindi
Introducing Bindi, a 7 year old female Golden Retriever cross. Bindi is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped & heartworm treated. She is approximately the size of a golden retriever, approximately 30kg, but we are not sure what she is crossed with. She has an under shot jaw which does not affect her in any way, in fact adds to her charm, and the biggest beautiful brown eyes in the world. Bindi comes with a clean bill of health and our vet pronounced her a very well behaved and lovely lady. She enjoys going for a walk and will have a paddle but is not a keen swimmer. She travels well in the car, in fact LOVES to go for a ride.
Bindi can be a bit dominant around other dogs so will need to be rehomed with someone who is willing to continue the training we have already begun. Currently, Bindi is fostering with four calm, mature dogs and seems happy around them but would not do well with a dog who is too rough or has no sense of personal space. With the right guidance she could possibly live with a calm dog or a mature cat.
She has already learned to walk nicely on lead and can hold a long drop & stay. Her recall is coming along well but will need ongoing practice as she sometimes forgets what she is supposed to be doing along the way. She has good manners around the house and understands boundaries. She has improved quite a lot she now knows what is expected of her - in a firm but loving home she will only continue to get better.
Bindi enjoys a romp with a tennis ball but over and above everything her favourite way to while away a beautiful day would be to lazy about in the sun with a big juicy bone.
Bindi loves people, she’ll love to have cuddles with her people. She has a history of anxiety based behaviours that we have been addressing and she has responded beautifully. She will be suitable to be rehomed with kids over ten years old. Applicants with small children or young visitors will not be considered, as she has a history of being uncomfortable and snappy around a toddler. She would love nothing more than to have a family that understands her needs and is happy to work with her. If you’re willing to help her with her training then she could be the girl for you.
