About Jed
Please meet Jed. This adorable guy is a 5 year old Bloodhound and came to the facility after being homeless for 18 months.
Jed is a very affectionate boy once he knows and trusts you - however, due to his time living on the streets, he is very timid and does take a little time to realise that you are his friend. He is improving daily with this confidence when meeting strangers.
He seems to get along well with other dogs - however as always, when bringing a new furry family member into the household it is always best to have a proper introduction with any existing dogs. He would be best suited with a dog his size or smaller than him as he can get afraid when larger dogs stand over him. Jed also seems to be fine with cats, but again we recommend a proper introduction.
Jed is quite scared of sudden movements and loud noises and would need to be allowed inside in a safe place with the family during thunder storms and fireworks.
He is gaining more confidence with each day when out for his walk and he now walks great on the lead. We can only see this improving with more socialisation and outings.
Jed is looking for his forever home with a patient owner who understands that he has not had a great life for the last couple of years, Once he has decided you are his friend, he will look to you for reassurance if he is unsure or scared. He is hoping to find home where his new family can help him build his confidence and spoil him with all the love that he will return to you.
He would suit a quiet home either with a single person, couple or family that have children old enough to understand to be gentle with Jed. He will require at least 6' fencing and it would be great if he could have access to inside the home when nobody is home.
He would love the company of another dog, which will also help Jed to build his confidence.
Jed is a sweet, cuddly guy once he gets to know you and would make a wonderful and loyal addition to a household.
Jed's adoption fee is $350 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and lifetime registration. Jed is also regularly treated for flea and worms.

Adoption details
Please phone or email us to find out more information on our animals. You will be asked to fill in a questionnaire. This questionnaire is confidential and does not oblige you to adopt, or guarantee you the animal. The information you provide helps the facility to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home.
Once the questionnaire and any questions you may have are approved and answered, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the facility unless prior arrangements are made by management.
After the meet and greet, a yard check will be completed at your home to ensure that your home and yard is suitable for the kind of pet you are interested in.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
