About Miley ~ toy poodle (on trial 3/12/16)
Introducing Miley! an 8 year old female chocolate toy poodle.
Miley is an active, playful little dog who loves being close to her family. When you are gardening, she follows you around, exploring. having a little dig or rolling on the grass. Miley is also an avid watcher of television, particularly if there is a dog/dogs in the program and will growl and bark at the television which I find funny and cute. Miley is an inside dog with access to the outside - she is house trained, clean and not destructive.
Miley enjoys short walks and is well behaved on the leash. I don't think she was used to going for drives in the car and in the beginning she wasn't very well behaved, now she gets excited when I take her for a drive, and is much better behaved. Her behaviour in the car will continue to improve as she becomes more accustomed to it.
Miley's perfect home is one where she would be part of the family. She would also enjoy having a small, friendly companion dog, particularly if the family go to work during the day. I am retired and though she hasn't been left for long periods at my place, when I go out she has been fine. Miley is not a nuisance barker but will certainly let you know when someone is at the door.
Although Miley loves children, she is a small dog and not suited to a home with children under 10. Miley is a very loving, affectionate dog and would be a perfect companion for a retired person or couple.
As Miley is a poodle, she will need to be clipped every 8 weeks and bathed every 2 to 3 weeks to keep her looking and feeling her best.
Miley needs to stick to a very strict diet (which may be more expensive). She is not allowed to eat wheat or fat as it causes her bloat - if this happens she needs buscopan and if this fails then she needs to be taken to vet for an adrenaline needle.
For more information or to meet Miley, please contact her foster carer Rebecca by emailing rosella52@bigpond.com. Miley is in foster care in Kotara South, NSW (Newcastle area) and is available for adoption interstate.
Miley's adoption fee is $300 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
