About Benji ~ Maltese x Poodle (On Trial 5/12/16)
Benji the Maltese x Poodle ("Moodle") is around 1 year old and is just too cute! His favourite loves in life are cuddles, more cuddles and playing with his toys. He is a very happy boy who also enjoys a good romp with a fellow four legged friend who likes similar games. Basically, Benji is just good company.
Benji sleeps right through the night. He is very well toilet trained and doesn’t feel the need to mark his territory; the grass is the place for him. He takes himself out through the doggy door to go to the toilet whenever needed. He is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside.
Benji is not used to being walked and is scared of the lead at the moment. Someone who is prepared to spend time with gentle training would most likely be able to change his mind on this fun activity. All around, Benji could benefit from continued training as he has missed out on learning basic manners and is inclined to jump up on you when he excited. I believe he would be a good dog to train as he loves his doggy treats.
Benji doesn't shed so a bit of time each week would also be needed to brush his beautiful coat . Regular bathing and clipping are required so his coat stays manageable.
Benji would be best suited to people who have time on their hands to teach him all the things he has missed out on life. At the moment he would not be suitable to a family with young children, due to his jumping, and older children would need to be gentle with him as his can be a little unsure around people, due to past experiences.
For more information or to meet Benji, please contact his foster carers Karen and Jason Scott on 400 911 63 or email on jk88scott@gmail.com. Benji is in foster care in Floraville, NSW (near Charlestown in Lake Macquarie). He is not available for adoption interstate.
Benji's adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
