About Bronte
Bronte loves people...both big and small. She is very gentle with young children, and doesnt object when they use her as a pillow or pretend she is a pony.
She is good with other dogs, however she can try to dominate them at times...however she has never shown any sign of aggression or bared her teeth at all.
Bronte is great with chickens...but beware of leaving the door of the chook pen open as Bronte likes to sneak in when she thinks you're not looking and steal an egg or 2 as she loves raw eggs...
She is food trained and will eat on command
She is curious of cats but never bothered to chase them or show aggression towards them.
She is an inside/outside dog, and likes nothing more than a good scratch and to lay at your feet or by your side.
Bronte loves the water...loves to run on the beach and splash in the waves, she also enjoys her bath and will happily stand there as you run the hose on her and lather her up.
Bronte came to us with severe anxiety. She would cower when you picked up anything like a broom, mop..etc. She was also scared of loud noises such as the lawn mower and whipper snipper, and would run away and hide. She also hates to be restrained in any way. I have been working on relieving her anxiety by showing her that there is nothing to fear with loud noises and big sticks. She now happily walks by my side when i mow the lawn without any fear.
Bronte still shows signs of anxiety and will cry intermittently for reassurance. She requires lots of love and support to settle her down, especially when she is introduced to a new environment.
Bronte would make the perfect companion to both the young and young at heart, all she needs is to be given the opportunity to show how good a dog she is when she is relaxed and given attention.
Medical notes
Bronte is very healthy; however her dew claws need to be cut as they grow quite fast and curl back towards her leg.
Adoption details
Fraser Coast Animal Rescue house all our dogs in care with foster carers in family homes. This allows the dogs to experience life in family situations with other dogs, cats, children, chooks and various other domestic animals. This gives us an opportunity to discover their traits and personalities, likes and dislikes, and which dogs would suit which family dynamics.
We offer a 14 day trial period for all potential adoptees so they can see if the dog they have chosen is a fit with their family situation. Their is a $50 refundable deposit paid on the commencement of the trial period, which comes off the balance of the adoption fee should you wish to formally adopt your chosen dog. If you decide that the dog doesn't fit with your family, the dog will be retured into foster care, and the full balance of the deposit is refunded to you with no fees or charges.
If you wish to arrange a meet and greet with one of our dogs in care, please call Dianne on 0400346347 or email dianne.north@hotmail.com
The committee and carers of Fraser Coast Animal Rescue are all volunteers, so please be patient with us if we dont answer your enquiries straight away.
