About Tiger ~ 7yo Chihuahua x Foxie (On Trial 24/11/16)
Introducing Tiger a 7 year old handsome male Chihuahua X Fox Terrier ..….. don’t be fooled by his name because he is the total opposite to a Tiger… a more fitting name would be Pussy Cat!!!
This little boy is a total sweet heart who has a happy, easy going, affectionate nature. He is an absolute delight and he will crack you up with his little quirks.
Tiger was privately surrendered by his elderly owners because they could no longer care for him. Before coming into care Tiger had only never been kept outside and was not toilet trained. Because of this he initially did not enjoy being inside as it made him very anxious. This smart trusting boy quickly learnt that being inside was actually an enjoyable place to be. He is now completely at ease and loves spending time inside with you. If he needs to go outside to the toilet, he just lets you know by standing at our back door …. what a clever little fellow he is.
For quite some time Tiger received little exercise so he has become a bit tubby. He currently weighs 5.7 kilos and the vet has advised that a healthy weight goal for Tiger is 5 kilos. So short walks, encouraging him to play with his favourite ball and a healthy diet is vital for Tiger.
He is currently in foster care with two small senior dogs and a kitty cat. They all get along great but human contact is more essential for this little boy. Tiger is so well behaved you can take him anywhere. He loves rides in the car and enjoys going places.
Tiger’s ideal forever home would be with a retired or semi-retired person/couple who are looking for a sweet, loving companion.
For more information or to meet Tiger, please email his foster mum Karen at ksluyter@exemail.com.au Tiger is in foster care in the Newcastle area and is not available for adoption interstate.
Tiger’s adoption fee is $200 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas, worms and heart worm, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
