About Benny ~ Jack Russell, 8yo boy (On Trial 14/12/16)
My name is Benny and I’m a wire coated Jacked Russell Terrier, approximately 8 years old. I'm a simple boy who really just loves the simple things in life. I would love a human of my own that I can follow around, accompany on short walks and car journeys and enjoy lots of cuddles. I am at my happiest cuddled up on a humans lap!
I walk beautifully on a lead and love saying hello to other humans and dogs on the way. I don't need long walks just short civilised strolls will do me fine.
I am well socialised with other dogs and currently live with 3 foster fur brothers. A doggy companion isn't essential in my new home as long as my human was there most of the time. I'm pretty relaxed and happy to share my human with another dog.
My foster human doesn't know too much about my history as I was picked up as a stray and I've got plenty of battle scars - a sure sign that I've graduated from the school of hard knocks. But this hasn't dampened my spirits I'm a sweet and happy soul and my tail never stops wagging.
I am getting used to being an inside dog and my toilet training has come on leaps and bounds. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?!
I would suit anyone looking for an easy-going companion dog. All I need is a little garden to potter around in, a short walk everyday and lots of love and hugs. If you adopt me I promise I will make you smile everyday!

Medical notes
Benny has unusually straight back legs but this does not hold him back at all. He can still chase a bird or two when he wants to!
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
