Bashful Buddy!

Buddy was impounded and didn’t move from his bed in his cage for an entire week. He was so traumatised he wouldn’t even lift his head to greet the cleaner (who also fed him). Council staff were worried he wouldn’t be a suitable candidate for rehoming and asked the opinion of two of their volunteers before making their decision to put him to sleep.

Both recognised this was a lovely natured puppy who was simply scared witless. He was immediately taken into foster care by one of our volunteers who then used her fun loving dog to unlock Buddy from his horror. Buddy makes progress daily but would be the type of dog best suited to a gentle loving environment with a patient owner who recognises that time will heal but who won’t expect miracles in the first few weeks. Buddy has formed friendships with a couple of visiting dogs as well as with his foster canine and foster feline. At this juncture Buddy still needs encouragement when out in the big bad world but is making good progress.

Buddy, being under 12 months of age, loves toys and is puppy playful. His confidence will also grow as he matures in age. He would make a faithful friend and we are looking for a kind hearted soul to fill his life with joy.
