About “Rose”, Blooming Incredible. Melbourne
When Rose arrived in foster care, she was so frightened that she hid in the bushes for 12 hours and wouldn’t eat for days! With kindness and patience, she’s made an incredible transformation into a sweet, loving, funny young girl.
Rose has many quirky habits, including dancing happily when her people come home; throwing rawhide chews in the air while lying on her back; and hiding everything she finds under a bush in the garden! Like most greyhounds, she’s happiest sneaking onto the couch and relaxing upside-down, and is content with two 20-30 minute daily walks and a game of chasey in the hallway. Rose is toilet trained (currently with 24-hour access outside), walks well on lead, and sleeps well at night in her ‘safe’ crate. She’s still learning about shiny surfaces – she slowly does the splits on polished floorboards, and is adorably confused by mirrors! She’s also learning that even if her humans love her, they don’t always want to share their dinner.
Rose needs a home where she can continue to build her confidence at her own pace. A canine companion is a must, as she loves playing with doggy friends, and gets very excited to meet new dogs out walking. She also loves meeting people (especially men), and is fine with children seven or over. We’re not sure yet how she feels about cats.
We’ll never know why Rose’s past left her so fearful, but we know her future will be filled with joy, for her and her forever family.
