About Tessa
Tessa has a sweet and gentle nature, is sensible, fast learning, and respectful. She is great with all ages of children. She interacts nicely with other dogs.
Tessa is in foster care on a farm where she comes immediately when called, and always stays close to her foster carer's side. She is good around cattle & horses. She loves to go for a run out in the paddock, always sticking close to her human, then afterwards lies quietly on the veranda for a sleep. Tessa is an alert and playful little girl, but also is just as happy to sit quietly for a pat and a cuddle as she is to have a run.
She hasn't met a cat as yet so we are unsure of how she would behave, but having such a sweet nature, and being a gentle girl, she may be fine.
She does not dig in the garden or cause mischief. She understands that when she is given a toy or a stick, that is her chew thing, and does not touch anything around the house or garden that she shouldn't touch. She does enjoy a swim in the dam.
Tessa would make a beautiful family dog, or a loyal companion for anyone who is after a happy, sensible, and well behaved little dog.
Tessa is a stumpy tail cattle dog cross. She is smaller than your usual cattle dog size, but has the intelligence, alertness, & love of life which is typical of a cattle dog.

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
1. You see a dog you like.
2. Fill in our online adoption form by clicking here or on our website. Be sure to include any questions you may have on our adoption form. This form does not obligate you to adopt, it simply gives us an idea of your situation and needs.

3. If your are successful, one of our volunteers will contact you to organise a meet and greet at your home and conduct a yard check at the same time.
4. Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. Adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
During the 2 week trial period, should you decide that this dog is not for you, you are welcome to return the dog (the more notice the better, to ensure we have a foster carer available) and your payment will be retunded to you in full, within 3 business days of the return of the dog.

We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
