About Blaze
Energy Level : Medium to high ( but not kelpie high) , 2 x 15 min brisk walks a day and he is extra happy, 1 x 15 min a day still happy but being a young dog he needs to work off energy and its a good chance to bond and train him... basically once he has had a quick run or 15 min walk , or some ball throwing, hes let all that energy out )
Barking: Usually pretty quiet, unless someone is trying to break in, or he wants to remind you its breakfast or dinner time.
On the lead: Good, but is a strong dog and a medium puller but he is getting better the longer i have had him... ideally suited to a guy as he is quite a muscular dog.
Behaviour: very well behaved listens to command and can take instructions, smart dog
House trained: Always goes outside to pee and poo, occasionally tries to jump up on humans, but only needs to be told to sit and he will obey, ideally i would recommend him as an inside/outside dog. but have been advised that he was kept inside before
Animals: Great with other dogs he is very sociable, can get over excited and with small dogs, but he is learning to control himself , not at all aggressive with other dogs. have seen him with one cat and he didnt try try to eat it... the cat stared him down. reportedly if you have chickens or birds he will try to chase ... so if you have small animals not recommended
People: Very friendly likes pats and attention, never bites , very playful, and would be best suited to someone with a back yard as he is a large dog and still a bit of teenager, when supervised he is well behaved but needs instruction and he is getting better, unsupervised hes a bit mischievous naturally , so dont leave anything precious lying around and you will be right.
One of the most intelligent and solid dogs I have fostered out of a dozen odd dogs over the years ...he will be great with a family or a guy or strong girl that is very active that wants a young dog and is that is home from work at least from 5 ish and home most nights or has another friendly medium to large dog to keep company... but overall an active person who is good with a big dog and is willing to learn.
