About Nessie
Please note: Nessie will be rehomed either with a male doggy friend or as an only dog.
Nessie is an adorable terrier who loves your company all the time. She loves humans and dogs alike but is choosy who she plays with. When she meets the right dog, to date males, she will just play with them non stop and flop over them to sleep. She is fine with small and large dogs although can be very excitable when she sees them coming towards her but exposure is making this less so. She currently has a 45 kg bull mastiff she plays tug of war with quite fearlessly but has expressed her desire to live with a dog more her size.
Nessie is an active busy dog who looks forward to her walks. She is a bright girl who is trained to sit on command and intelligently picks up new tricks quickly. She does still need further training, but is crate trained and will return to her crate when asked. We suspect she was a back yard breeders dog and rarely left the yard if ever as she gets so excited at anything new. She loves to be in stimulating situations and loved her visit to Bunnings in the trolley, loved being on the surf board, and generally is a give it a try girl.
If you raise your voice to her she will get concerned and on occasion hide but her big fault is following you around to check that you are going to take her out for coffee with you. She would be a great dog for an active family with another dog, and perhaps teenagers, who wanted a dog they can take to sports days and so on with them. She loves to be in the action, travels well and looks forward to the car (means somewhere exciting is in the offering) and goes to bed easily at night and sleeps through. She is also a good little watchdog.
Nessie came to us with massive mammary tumours. She has had two huge operations with strips removed and spayed at the same time. Fortunately the biopsies showed no malignancy.

Nessie has had three operations now to remove mammary tumours and desex. She is a healthy girl who has bounced back well.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you too as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Unfortunately we usually will not have time to reply to enquiries in more detail and will give priority to completed applications over enquiries. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
