About “Ebony”, Rare and Precious. Melbourne
Beautiful Ebony is as precious as her name. Her foster carers have fallen in love with this gentle, chocolate-coloured lady with the grey ‘milk mustache’ - and we’re sure that whoever meets her will do the same.
Ebony’s sharing her foster home with three other dogs, and tolerates their company, even if she doesn’t understand how to play. She feels most confident near her trusted humans. Ebony likes to supervise in the kitchen, and paces around until someone puts her bed where she can observe in comfort. At night, her foster carers sometimes wake up to the thump-thump of her tail wagging against the furniture, as she comes in and realises that they’re still there.
Ebony’s great with children (six or over) and shows no interest in chasing small dogs - just the occasional chicken! She isn’t yet tested with cats. She’s a fast learner, and knows not to get on the couch, to come when she’s called (mostly), and what time breakfast is served in the morning. She alerts her humans with a bark if she needs a loo break – or if breakfast is running late!
Ebony sleeps a lot and is just starting to enjoy short walks. She spends days at her foster carer’s office, which is helping to build her confidence around people. She sometimes does a little frolic or dance, then stops shyly as if she’s not sure whether it’s ok. Ebony will thrive in an environment with patient, reassuring humans, who can make her as happy as she’ll make them.
