About Cookie ED0076
Cookie has been described by her carer as such a loveable, cute and sweet little girl. Cookie is very affectionate and loves to be in her carer’s company. Cookie’s ideal home would be with a retired person or couple where someone is at home most of the time as Cookie doesn’t like being left alone for long periods. If Cookie is left inside when her carer goes out, she will howl for a short period but will then settle and curl up in her bed, but if she is left alone outside, Cookie will find a way to escape. If Cookie’s carer needs to do some shopping Cookie is happy to stay with the neighbour until her carer returns.
Due to Cookie’s background she would particularly suit a female only home as she does prefer women to men but she will accept men once she knows them. Initially Cookie is timid with people she doesn’t know but when she learns to trust, she is very accepting – she can also be won over with a treat or two. Cookie would also prefer to be an only pet as she craves one on one attention. Cookie loves a cuddle and will sit on the couch with her carer in the evening and then likes to curl up next to her on the bed at night.
Cookie does chase cats and rabbits so could not live with other small animals. She has accepted the small female dog next door but seems to dislike male dogs (especially entire males) and medium to large breed dogs and will chase them off if near her house.
Cookie is housetrained and if allowed outside before bedtime will go through the night without accidents. Cookie also walks quietly on the lead and is a pleasure to exercise. She is also a very well behaved little girl and does not display destructive behaviour. Cookie has not had time invested in her in her previous home and has spent most of her life in a yard so she is now learning how to play but doesn’t yet understand what toys or balls are for – given gentle encouragement she may learn to enjoy interaction with a toy. Cookie does enjoy playing with her carer’s grandchildren when they visit.
Cookie is very quiet at home and only barks when someone comes to the door. Her energy level is low to medium which means that she loves to sleep in her little bed through the day unless she is being taken out for a walk or is otherwise entertained.
Cookie is looking for a quiet and loving home where she can be someone’s close and constant companion. She would love to be lavished with affection and would give so much back to you in return – she is such a sweet girl who deserves so much more in her twilight years.
