Toby Jasper

Meet Toby Jasper, a seven-year-old Australian kelpie cattle dog cross, who first came to Maggie's Rescue in 2012. He is one of the very special dogs who nearly didn't make it out of the pound... When our driver arrived to collect him, other dogs were loaded but Toby Jasper wasn't there. Asked where he was, the pound staff said, 'We didn't know he was going!' and they ran back to get him. He had already been sedated to be euthanised so his blood could be drained to help sick dogs. It was sheer luck that he didn't die. He travelled to his carer while fast asleep, and began his search for a home.

Toby Jasper is currently in foster care in the inner west of Sydney. He is such a magnificent boy... Energetic and affectionate, he loves humans, and has made lots of pooch friends since learning some techniques to manage his reactivity. (He's a very smart boy.)

He has become so good with other dogs that his foster carer thinks he could happily share a home with another pupper.

Toby Jasper is in search of a loving home with or without older children - his manners are a bit too earthy for young kids or toddlers. He'll do very well in an active home where he will be taken on a long walk every day, and have a big backyard to relax in.
