"Dolly" - Teen Supreme. Melbourne

Dolly’s a typical teenager - full of energy one minute, fast asleep the next! She loves playing fetch, or chasey with her greyhound foster siblings (humans are too slow!), then it’s time for a nap to recharge her batteries. Like most young dogs, when Dolly’s awake she likes to be busy, so needs plenty of kongs and chews for mental stimulation. She’s a smart little cookie, who knows how to sit and wait for her dinner or a treat, but still has a few things to learn – like walking on lead without getting distracted; relaxing in unfamiliar situations; and having the spatial awareness not to sit on her foster sisters by mistake!

Like all teenagers, Dolly needs the right balance of clear boundaries and unconditional love. Her foster carers have trained her carefully, with short bursts of exercise followed by chill-out time in her crate, which has helped her stay calm when her humans aren’t around. They can now leave her alone without any household items getting chewed – quite an achievement for a young dog!

Dolly would like a mature (in behaviour, if not years) canine companion, to guide her adjustment to living in a ‘pack’. She hasn’t spent time yet with small dogs, cats or children, but is quite interested in chasing birds. Dolly lives as an inside dog, and can follow a regular toilet routine without any accidents.

Dolly offers all the exuberance, adventurousness and curiosity of a dog on the brink of adulthood, with the usual loyal, snuggly greyhound nature. Whoever invests in helping this teenage girl grow up will be rewarded with a very special lifetime companion. She would make a wonderful addition to a family with children over 6yo as she adores kids.
