Mia

Mia is a gorgeous young dog with happiness and friendliness to spare. She hasn’t had much training so far and does tend to bounce all over the place. She will need an owner willing to spend time teaching her things, like how to walk nicely on a lead and how to be a bit calmer. She loves her treats and would be a dream to teach. Mia will be an amazing dog if someone just gives her a chance. There’s nothing Mia would like more than to be someone’s best dog buddy. She loves everyone and loves other dogs, but she needs to learn to ‘cool it’ a bit when saying hello - not all dogs want full on play in the first two seconds! Mia will make a great friend for someone and would suit a range of homes. She isn’t suitable to be homed with another cat or with a family with younger children – she’s just too excitable at the moment.

Handling: Mia is very much a young untrained Staffy girl who loves people and attention.

Health: She looks in fine health having put on a good amount of condition on her emaciated form on arrival in our facility.

Training: knows “sit” and will work for treats and kind words.

Walking on lead: after her initial joyful bounciness, Mia settled well enough to walk quite well.

Dog to dog: Mia was over enthusiastic when meeting Jake (another Staffy); jumping on his head with her paws and not responding to his expressed requests to stop that. Mia would require slow introduction to other dogs as she sometimes forgets her manners.
